How it works

Simple and easy, for every family.

No forms to wrestle and no waiting to be matched. You choose the tutor, you choose the time. Here is exactly what happens.

Six steps, from browsing to a steady rhythm.

You can book as soon as you find a tutor who fits. Your first report arrives after your first lesson.

1

Find a tutor who fits

Filter by subject, level, price and the days they teach. Every profile shows the tutor’s hourly rate, what they teach, and the subjects we have verified against their certificates. Reviews appear once families have left them; we publish none before then.

2

Pick a time from their calendar

You see the hours that tutor is genuinely free, in UK time. The earliest slot you can take is 12 hours away, and the calendar runs 8 weeks ahead. Choose one and your place is held for 30 minutes while you check out.

3

Pay securely, once

Card payment through Stripe, for that lesson. No subscription and nothing auto-renews. Elysian holds the money and pays the tutor after the lesson has been delivered.

4

Your first lesson is guaranteed

If the first lesson with a new tutor is not right, tell us within 48 hours. Our staff review it, and where the claim is upheld we refund it in full. After that, cancel with at least 24 hours' notice and you get the whole lesson back; cancel with less notice and half is refunded. You can move a lesson up to twice, with at least 24 hours' notice, to a slot within 28 days of the original time.

5

A report after every lesson

What was covered, what improved, one real moment from the lesson, and what is next. Written by the tutor, checked and approved by the Elysian team before it reaches you.

6

Everything stays in one place

Lessons, messages with your tutor, approved reports and your child's progress all live in the family portal. Messages stay on Elysian so our safeguarding team can see them.

The lesson report

Five sections, readable in two minutes.

1

Today we covered. Each topic marked struggling, progressing or confident, so you see exactly where things stand.

2

I was impressed by. One real moment from the lesson, in the tutor's own words.

3

We'll keep working at. The honest bit. What still needs time.

4

Next time we'll cover. The plan for the next lesson, so lessons never drift.

5

Practice before next lesson. Specific tasks with rough timings.

Every report is checked and approved by the Elysian team before it reaches you, and every approved report joins your child's record in the parent portal.

The first-lesson guarantee
