Oxbridge interview preparation · 2027 entry

The interview is the step every Oxbridge offer passes through.

Cambridge states that everyone it makes an offer to has been interviewed. Interviews run from 7 to 18 December 2026 and invitations go out from mid-November, so a candidate who waits to be invited has about three weeks. We prepare candidates from now.

The call is with a person, not a sales queue. If we cannot staff the subject, we say so on the call rather than after you have paid.

What a session is

A mock interview in the candidate's own subject, then feedback on the thinking.

An Oxbridge interview is a supervision or tutorial in miniature. The candidate is given a problem they have not seen, and the interviewer watches how they move through it: what they ask, what they discard, whether they say the thing they are unsure about out loud. Rehearsed answers are the failure mode, and a rehearsed candidate is easy to spot.

So a session runs the interview properly and then takes it apart. What the question was really testing, where the reasoning stalled, and what to do differently the next time a problem arrives with no method attached to it. A written report reaches the family afterwards, checked by us before it is sent.

When to start

Three moments matter, and only one of them is the panic window.

  • Now to 15 October 2026. Preparation alongside the personal statement and the admissions test, which are the same candidate's problem in the same weeks. UCAS closes at 18:00 on 15 October for Oxford, Cambridge, medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.
  • Mid-November to 6 December 2026. Invitations have landed and the interview is weeks away. The most urgent moment, and the least room to build anything.
  • Mid to late January 2027. Cambridge winter pool interviews. A pooled candidate has been kept in the running by one College and passed to another, and almost nobody prepares for this round because few people know it happens.

Dates and their sources are on the 2027 entry admissions calendar, with UCAS, UCAT, ESAT, TMUA and LNAT on one page.

Who teaches it

Four gates before a tutor teaches anyone.

Interviewed by us, subject qualifications verified against the certificate, an enhanced DBS check with the children's barred list, and a profile approved before it goes live. The platform enforces all four rather than trusting a claim on an application form.

We do not publish a tutor count on this page, and we will not until profiles are live through every gate. What we will do on the call is tell you honestly whether we can staff your subject this cycle.

What it costs

£55 to £90 an hour, and you see the rate before anything is booked.

Each tutor sets their own rate inside the admissions band, and the published bands by level are on the pricing page. You see the rate before anything is booked. No subscription, and no package you have to buy before you have met anyone.

If the first lesson with a new tutor is not right, tell us within 48 hours. Our staff review it and, where the claim is upheld, we refund it in full.
